Almost Maine

The Greater Atlanta Alumnae Association for Alpha Delta Pi held a fundraiser last night at Horizon Theater in Little Five Points. The fund raiser was to raise $$ for the Ronald McDonald House, ADPi's philanthropy organization.

Horizon Theater was showing a preview of their newest show, Almost Maine. It was great. I went with a friend from my chapter, my friend O from work, and M. Plus, all of the laides from GAAA. We really enjoyed it!! I would definitely recommend catching this if you are available. I was impressed enough that I am looking into season tickets for this quaint little theater.

Toilet Cleaning Chimp

Chimp escapes then cleans toilet
Associated Press

LITTLE ROCK — An escaped chimpanzee at the Little Rock Zoo raided a kitchen cupboard and did a little cleaning with a toilet brush before sedatives knocked her out on top of a refrigerator.
The 120-pound primate, Judy, escaped Tuesday into a service area when a zookeeper opened a door to her sleeping quarters, unaware the animal was still inside.
As keepers tried to woo Judy back into her cage, she rummaged through a refrigerator where chimp snacks are stored. She opened kitchen cupboards, pulled out juice and soft drinks and took swigs from bottles she managed to open.
"Then she went in the bathroom and picked up a toilet brush and cleaned the toilet," primate keeper Ann Rademacher said. "Her technique was good enough to make me think she must have done it before."
The 37-year-old Judy was a house pet before arriving at the zoo in 1988. Rademacher said that might explain how Judy knew how to wring out a sponge and scrub down the fridge.
The chimp accepted a strawberry yogurt laced with a sedative.... Within five minutes, she fell asleep on top of the refrigerator with half a loaf of cinnamon-raisin bread she had pulled out of the freezer.
*****************
How sad is this? Poor Judy used to be a housekeeper!! Someone used a chimp! If I even suggested this to Wally, he'd bite me in the ass! I can't even get him to fold the laundry that I take out of the dryer....
<==This guy's not cleanin' a toilet!!

Smiles at Three Bears

Saturday night M and I went to a place on Marietta Square, Three Bears. I'd never been there before. Apparently, "Back in the day" it had been the hoppin dance club. I think some of the patrons may have been there since that time.... It was definitely the youngest I've felt at a club since I was drinking underage....
We went to hear a band that my friend John is in. The band is the Whitlock Brothers.... I think.... or The Brothers Whitlock.... Not sure. But, it was their first "public appearance" and they did a smash up job! John's wife needs to take a few of them out for a makeover so that they look a little more rock and roll and a little less fraternity party.
John's wife took these pics for us. M is acting a little silly, but that is A-OK! I love him even if he can be a goofball! Besides, you have no idea how great it is to see him smile. The smiles are becoming more frequent and I am grateful.

Badge

My friend created a "badge." Very cool.
Thought I'd help him spread the word to raise money for Ovarian Cancer.
Thanks!

Maybe a Theme

Just started this and desperately want a "theme" all my own....since I am still resisting all urges to just post pictures of my wonderful dog....

I think that I'm going to write about the books I'm reading. Don't get really excited. I'm not a literary junkie. Just read what I enjoy.

I was in a book club for a long time and we have disbanded.... I miss the discussion. Here I'll just be discussing with myself....unless someone else chimes in....but I thinkI'll enjoy it.

And, besides, IGA has already taken "drinking at work" so there go my other thoughts.....
